POSITION: Assistant Box Office Manager
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Box Office Manager/Director of Finance
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Box Office Manager. Under general direction of the Box Office Manager, acts as the liaison between the Box Office Manager, staff and the general public.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise all full and/or part-time box office personnel.

Manage box office night of show activities.

Contact with promoters on a daily basis.

Build shows in the ticketing system.

Train staff on ticketing system and other aspects of ticket operations.

Assist in the supervision, training and motivation of employees.

Prepare payroll time records for box office personnel.

Prepare work schedule for part-time employees.

Assist in communications with promoter(s), Director of Finance and Director of Sales & Marketing to obtain updated event
-
schedules and provide ticket sales information.

Set-up ticketing and coordinate sales for events at the BOK and TCC.
-
Coordinate the house sale for all ticketed events while supervising tickets sellers.

Prepare and consolidate bank deposits of sales receipts.

Directly responsible for vault funds, cash advances, promoter advances, and denominations needed for ticket sales.

Coordinate ticketing and settlement in absence of the Box Office Manager.

Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Position requires ability to:

Recognize and solve related problems efficiently and rapidly while handling a large volume of tickets and cash.

Operate computerized ticketing system and a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.

Operate standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.

Handle/reconcile large sums of money utilizing prescribed cash management controls.

Demonstrate knowledge of principles of bookkeeping, accounting and box office procedures.

Work in a fast paced environment and handle heavy workload that can present stressful situations.

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, G.E.D. or vocational training and a minimum of three (3) years experience in planning and supervising the sale of tickets for a variety of events in a large recreational, sports, entertainment or other public assembly facility; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Ticketing experience required.
